Furthermore, a couple of characters can only be unlocked by playing with a runeword (i.e. Some may have been unlocked by beating the dungeon with a certain character. I can't remember how I got all of them unlocked. Runewords can be unlocked with playthroughs. Runes can be spent in-game at a couple of places: certain shrines let you "pay" with a rune for increased luck or other things other shrines take rune payment in exchange for tattoos, which will bestow new abilities.įinally, in the little town before you re-enter the dungeon, one of the buildings lets you form runewords that change the way you'll next play. Within the game, you will also sometimes come across a rune forge, which gives you the opportunity to upgrade 3x bronze to 1x silver, or 3x silver into 1x gold.
